"This is a picture of my wife paddling her surfboard on the edge of one of the reefs that we surf regularly in Sumba. The aerial shot allows you to understand the contours of the reef, its interaction with the ocean, and the multitude of elements that all have to come together like a perfectly choreographed play, for a wave to break and be rideable on a board. It is nothing short of a miracle. This picture also shows how small and irrelevant we are as all this comes together”.
