ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Christopher Martin Gallery is launching the first solo Houston exhibition for Kinga Czerska, whose Colorado studio is located just outside of Aspen in the artistic community of Basalt. While the show will feature a collection of her acrylic on wood panels, Czerska’s 25-year career also includes pieces in mediums ranging from ceramics and wood sculpture to textiles. She sees her paintings evoking a peacefulness and stillness, taking viewers momentarily to a meditative, calm state – an escape that is so important in the bustle of the everyday.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Colorado-based and Polish-born contemporary artist Kinga Czerska devotes her time to the study of different patterns and structures found in architecture, engineering, the animal kingdom, stars and galaxies, and the human body and psyche. Czerska is amazed at the intricacies of natural and man-made environments and the phenomenal detail that allows for each piece to fit; creating a graceful, precise, elegant and balanced world.
